And to bolster their point, the Roanoke Valley Association of Realtors kicked off a media and public relations campaign designed to encourage consumers thinking about a venture into the real estate market.
The Realtors said mortgage rates are at a 13-year low and property costs have come down as sellers have chosen to slash prices instead of hang on.
"At this rate, the impact on the buying public is that many people can now qualify for a loan who were unable to qualify at last year's higher rates," Walter Poff, president of the regional real estate association, said in a statement.
