The meeting is for parents and professionals who deal with the disorder, which is said to affect 5 percent of schoolchildren.
Attention deficit hyperactive disorder symptoms include short attention span, difficulty in following directions, easy distraction and disorganization, impulsive temperment and inability to sit still.
The 7 p.m. meeting will be held at the Child Study Center on Prices Fork Road. The "Medication and the ADHD Child" presentation will feature pediatrician Martha Sparrow. Refreshments will be served.
The support group meets regularly on last Wednesdays at the study center.
