TRIBUNE PUBLISHER ON BOARD OF VISITORS

Claudia A. Whitworth, owner and publisher of the Roanoke Tribune, has been appointed to Norfolk State University's Board of Visitors.

The appointment, made my Gov. Douglas Wilder, is for a four-year term.

"I'm very honored to have been chosen," Whitworth said. While she was notified of the appointment this week, Whitworth said she has not been told details, such as when the term begins.

Whitworth has previously served on the president's roundtable at the university, she said.
