The Midget League (ages 9-11) will start the day with its final at 12:30 when the Glenvar 76ers will play the Williamson Road Hornets. The 76ers defeated the Cave Spring Celtics 38-22, and the Hornets knocked off the Cloverdale Gold 43-29 in Saturday's semifinals.
In the Little League (ages 11-13), the top-seeded Williamson Road Wahoos will face the North Roanoke Hornets at 2:30 p.m. In Saturday's semifinals, the Wahoos beat the Cave Spring Hornets 60-45, and the Hornets got by the North Roanoke Tar Heels 39-34.
At 5 p.m., the top-seeded Troutville Bulls will play the Mason Cove Volunteers for the Junior League (ages 13-15) title. Troutville pounded the Cave Spring Bulls 59-32 Saturday to get to the final, and Mason Cove edged the North Roanoke Celtics 44-42.
Cheerleading squads for the teams will be competing at 3:45 p.m., and an awards ceremony will follow the Junior League game.
Meanwhile, area players will be competing for the 15th Annual Roanoke Valley High School One-On-One Championship. John Smith of William Byrd, Mike Fayed of Cave Spring, Tee Jennings of William Fleming and Lord Botetourt's Bobby Prince are the 1991 semifinalists.
Smith will face Fayed, and Jennings will play Prince. Smith defeated Scott Sartini of Roanoke Catholic and Kenny Wade of Franklin County, and Fayed beat Salem's Mark Byington and Marcus Caldwell of North Cross to enter the semifinals.
Jennings got past Mike Kolnok of Roanoke Catholic and Jay Sandy of Salem, and Prince eliminated Ryan Cook of North Cross and Franklin County's Kordy Bernard to reach today's play.
Semifinal action begins at 1:30 p.m., and the championship is scheduled for 3:15.
