W&L WOMEN WIN IN LACROSSE MARATHON

It took a second sudden-death period after one regular overtime for Washington and Lee's women's lacrosse team to pull out a 10-9 victory over Guilford on Saturday.

Lisa Dowling, who had three goals, scored the game-winner on an assist by Shawn Wert.

W&L (1-1-0 overall, 1-0 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference) trailed 6-2 early in the second half before rallying with four straight goals. Guilford fell to 0-2.

After an 8-8 tie at the end of regulation, each team scored one gaol in the regular overtime and neither scored in the first sudden death.
