HILL-WENZEL
Maria Belina Wenzel and Mark Straughn Hill were married March 16, 1991 in
San Fernando Cathedral. Father James Hynes officiated. The reception was held
at St. Anthony Hotel. The maid of honor was Lei Rae Ramirez, cousin of the
bride. The bridesmaids were Miquette Uhrenholdt, and Anita Alexander, sisters
of the bride; Wendy LeHew and Shawn O'Neal. The best man was Dean W.C.
Mitchell. The groomsmen were Leroy Ramirez, III, cousin of the bride; Greg
Short, Thomas Meredith, James Farrell. The bride wore her mother's wedding
dress made of champagne silk with Venice lace appliques, beaded with pearls.
She carried a free form cascade of philanopsis orchids, dendrobcum orchids and
champagne roses. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander B. Wenzel
of San Antonio, Texas. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin,
with a degree in Finance. She is employed by Studio Architects. The groom, son
of Mrs. Mary Lois Hill, and the late Harold Straughn Hill of Blacksburg, is a
graduate of Virginia Tech. He is self employed as an Architect. After the
wedding trip to Huatulco, Mexico, the newlyweds will live in Alexandria for 3
months, then in Switzerland.
