POWELL ANNIVERSARY
Ronnie and Linda Powell, of Roanoke, Va., celebrated their love by renewing
their wedding vows on their 23rd wedding anniversary March 16th, at Layman
Memorial Baptist Church. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Jack Trent and
Rev. Gary Fowler. The matron of honor was Mrs. Cindy Hairfield Barger, dear
friend. Flower girl was Amy Helms, niece. Serving his brother as best man was
Mr. Douglas W. Powell. Their sons, Lee and Bryan Powell served as ushers.
Special music was performed by pianist, Deena Woods and soloist, Dana Kite,
dear friends. Ms. Kite performed "Through The Years", "I.O.U.", and "What a
Difference You Made". The guest book was attended by Missy Helms, niece.
Reception hostesses was Mrs. Joyce Rantz, very dear friend, Mrs. Kay P. Helms,
sister and Mrs. Judy F. Powell, sister-in-law. Mrs. Teresa Dixon, dear friend,
served as director of the service and reception. Photographers were Ricky
Barger, friend, and Charles Brown, uncle. Mrs. Powell is the former Linda
Perkins, daughter of Archie "Ray" Perkins and Betty "Ruth" Perkins. Brothers,
Johnny and Bucky Perkins of Richmond. Sister of Mrs. Mary Carolyn Ratcliff of
Chilhowie, Virginia. She is employed by Roanoke County Commissioner of the
Revenue and is chairperson of Individual Recruitment of Juvenile Diabetes
Walk-a-thon. Mr. Powell is the son of the late Sgt. William L. Powell, Frank
E. and Juanita P. Gibson. Mr. Powell is employed by Tanglewood Mall and is a
member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics, the Roanoke Valley Radio Control
Club and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
