W. CAROLINA SLAMS VMI 21-0 IN BASEBALL

Western Carolina had 19 hits in routing VMI 21-0 for a three-game sweep in Southern Conference college baseball Sunday.

The Catamounts (16-10 overall, 6-0 conference) outscored the winless Keydets (0-10-1, 0-6) 55-3 in three games while getting 54 hits to VMI's 12.

Western Carolina had no trouble Sunday, scoring nine runs in the first inning on nine hits and two VMI errors. Rodney Tesh and Kevin Bellomo each went 3-for-3. For VMI, Brian Adams went 2-for-3.
