TECH GOLFERS FINISH 11TH IN FLORIDA TOURNEY

Virginia Tech shot a final-round 313 Sunday for a 915 total and 11th place at the Pepsi/University of South Florida Invitational golf tournament.

Mississippi shot a 292 and took the championship with an 883 and Fred Cornell of Tampa University took the individual title at 214.

Virginia Tech's Tom Brittain and Ross Roberts finished at 227. Brent Thaxton had a 75 Sunday, Roberts shot 77, Tom Graziano 80 and Brittain 81. - Staff report
