James Norman Lee of Peak Street was driving north on U.S. 11, about 300 feet south of Interstate 81 at Exit 47, when he failed to negotiate a curve, police said.
His car went off the right shoulder of the road, struck a guardrail and overturned about 3:40 p.m. Saturday.
Lee died at 11:40 a.m. Sunday at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
