MARION - Mrs. Hattie Aker Sturgill, age 83, widow of Lundy E. Sturgill, died Monday, March 18, 1991 in Francis Marion Manor. She was born on August 16, 1907 in Smyth County and she was a member of the Marion Baptist Church. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. George (Nancy) Cormany and Mrs. Lillian Helton, both of Marion; one brother, Mrs. Windell Robert Aker of Cincinnati, Ohio; fourteen nieces; nine nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 21, 1991 at 11:00 a.m. at Marion Baptist Church with Rev. Eugene Helton officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the Marion Baptist Church or the Marion Life Saving Crew. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
