NEW CASTLE - Jerry E. Springer, age 53, died at a Salem hospital, Monday. He is preceded in death by his father, Earl Springer and daughter, Cara Springer and survived by his wife, Rita B. Springer, New Castle; one daughter, Teresa Springer, Charlottesville; two sons, Craig Springer, Lynchburg; Shawn Springer, New Castle and his mother, Esther Springer, Gerome, Idaho. Funeral services will be conducted, Wednesday 2:00 p.m. at Boitnott Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Huffman Memorial Cemetery. Immediately following the service, a luncheon will be served at Hebron Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Craig County Rescue Squad c/o Rex Hale. The family will receive friends Tuesday, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
