CROZET FIRE KILLS 2

Authorities were working Tuesday night to determine the identities of two bodies found in a burning house earlier in the day.

The bodies found in the single-story, wood-frame structure after the fire were taken to the state medical examiner in Richmond for autopsies.

Firefighters said the bodies were found near a window. They theorized the two people were trying to escape when they were overcome.

The fire was discovered shortly before 10 a.m. by a man working in a nearby field, authorities said.
