NARROWS - Melba Harris McCroskey, age 46, of Narrows, died Wednesday morning at her residence at 303 E. College Street in Narrows, Virginia, following a lingering illness. She was born in Somerset, Ky. on October 28, 1944 and was the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Taft M. Harris of Narrows. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Narrows where she was a Sunday School Teacher, and Youth Director and served as Missionary Leader of the church. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marie H. Robertson of Ferrum, Virginia in July 1990. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, W. Leroy McCroskey; one son, Jason L. McCroskey, Narrows; one daughter, Cynthia M. Stafford, Pembroke, Va.; one brother, Jack M. Harris, Franklin, Ky.; three sisters, Velma H. Ezell and Cosetta H. Smith, both of Narrows, Esther H. Saul, Matewan, W.Va. Funeral services will be held Friday, 2:00 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy in Narrows with Rev. Edward Atkins, Rev. Albert Brown, Rev. Tom Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows Thursday from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 until 9:00 p.m.
