NAT HENTOFF TO GIVE TALK IN LEE CHAPEL

Nat Hentoff, staff writer for The Village Voice, will speak at Washington and Lee University's Lee Chapel tonight at 8 p.m.

The speech is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by Contact, a student organization that brings speakers to the W&L campus.

Hentoff is recognized as one of the foremost authorities on the First Amendment.

In addition to a weekly column in the Voice, Hentoff writes a column on the First Amendment and the Bill of Rights for The Washington Post. He also has written for The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Atlantic and The New Republic on such topics as racism, sexism, police spying and educational reforms.

A native of Boston, Hentoff received a B.A. degree from Northeastern University and did graduate work at Harvard University. He was a Fulbright Fellow at the Sorbonne in Paris in 1950 and was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in education.
