WILL RADICALS NOW JOIN THE BANDWAGON?

NOW THAT the euphoria of the 100-hours Gulf War is being celebrated, history will record this event for many many years to come. The small loss of life, indeed a miracle, is a tribute to the military genius of Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf, his troops, military personnel and the approval of President George Bush.

This accomplishment has the armchair commentators groveling for words of disenchantment. One recalls the confrontation of George Bush by Dan Rather at election time. How often have Bryant Gumble, Paxton Davis and other biased radicals expressed their feelings about national and world dignitaries? Will they now join the bandwagon as born-again American first citizens, waving the flag, or continue deliberating their programmed philosophy?

It seems to me the silent majority of America will decide its future course (given the true facts), but always with compassion for all nationalities. It is indeed a time of pride for all Americans of good will and trust in God. RICHARD SALZER ROANOKE
