William Emmett Poindexter, age 65, of Vinton passed away Wednesday in a Roanoke hospital. Surviving are his wife, Dorothea F. Poindexter; son, William Douglas Poindexter of Round Hill, Va.; daughter, Anne P. Bottorff of Sellersburg, Ind.; grandson, Dean Christopher Bottorff of Sellersburg, Ind.; one sister, Mary Frances Irby of Gladys; one brother, Hugh D. Poindexter of Portsmouth. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Vinton Chapel 7:00 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Ernie Lewis officiating. A second funeral will be held at Henderson Funeral Home, 221 Old Main Street 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Brookneal, Va. with interment in Falling River Baptist Church Cemetery, Brookneal. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the Masonic Home of Virginia. Arrangements by Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
