16-YEAR-OLD CONVICTED IN BOYFRIEND'S DEATH

A 16-year-old whose boyfriend allegedly beat her for three years was convicted of manslaughter in his stabbing death.

Marilyn Moore told a judge Wednesday that George "Tony" Clark beat her "every other day," and wrote her threatening letters from jail. He kept their relationship going for three years with constant promises to treat her better, she said.

Circuit Judge Warren Stephens found the Newport News 11th-grader guilty of voluntary manslaughter. When he sentences her in May, he can either punish her as a juvenile or give her to up to 10 years in an adult prison.

The juvenile sentence would require that she be freed by her 21st birthday.
