BOONES MILL - Mrs. Beatrice Phelps Simmons, age 71, of Route 2, Boones Mill, Va., passed away Thursday at a local hospital. Survivors include her husband, Cliff J. Simmons; two daughters, Lorraine Insang and Claressia Gholson, all of Boones Mill; two sons, Cliff Herbert Simmons, Boones Mill; and Ronnie Levan Simmons, Roanoke; seven grandchildren, two daughters-in-law, Dianne Simmons, Roanoke; Connie Simmons, Ohio; two sons-in-law, James Gholson, Korea; and Ray Insang, Jamacia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives.
