The State Department of Labor and Industry has fined Union Camp Corp. of Isle of Wight, Va., $2,000 for hazardous conditions inside its particle board plant that might have been partly responsible for a fire that killed two workers last year.

New York money manager Mario Gabelli has increased his holdings in Media General Inc. to 30.27 percent of the company's Class A common stock. However, he said he has no intention of seeking a seat on the company's board of directors.
