MARION'S LAWSON TAKES REGION HONORS

Marion's K.W. Lawson has been voted the Region IV boys' basketball coach of the year after his team won the Highlands District and regional tournaments.

Lawson is joined by John Battle's Phillip Scypher, who is the player of the year, in taking top Region IV honors. Scypher averaged 22.7 points a game this year. Marion finished with a 25-3 record after losing to Group AA champion Waynesboro in the first round of the state tournament. The complete team: FIRST TEAM
