UVA BUDGET CUTS WILL TRIM OFFERINGS

University of Virginia budget cuts will trim at least 10 percent of the school's undergraduate course offerings next fall, administrators told the school's Board of Visitors Thursday night.

Students will also face more crowded classrooms next fall. In the engineering school, for example, an average of 49 students were in each class this semester. Next year, the average will be 53, Dean Edgar A. Starke said.
