REVISING FAMILIAR TRAFFIC PATTERN WAS DANGEROUS

WHERE DID the group known as the Greater Deyerle Road Association acquire the authority to bargain away my right to use the most direct and safest route to my home in the area? I do not remember electing this group to any legislative body empowered to enact laws affecting my daily life.

For almost 40 years, this traffic pattern suited us fine. It was in place when this group moved into the area, and they were well aware of the local traffic patterns. What they are asking of the city causes many of us to travel miles further to get home, often over more dangerous roads. In some cases it has caused serious problems.

The Peters Creek Road Extension is still on the drawing board. Why should many of us be put at risk when the possible problems are years away? There are enough serious problems in this city that need attention now. Why borrow trouble? WILLIAM T. PEDIGO ROANOKE
