CIVILIZATION IS NOT FOR PANDAPAS

PANDAPAS Pond is indeed an opportunity, but not as our Park Service envisions. It has the power to relieve our stress, to erase the burdens of civilization for a little while. It has the power of nature.

The Park Service sees it as a potential park. They want to make it more civilized.

Everyone should have the opportunity to escape to a place like Pandapas, stroll the muddy trails, dip a hand or a foot in the water, listen to the silence, and regain a healthier perspective of life.

If you want real peace and beauty, go there and find them. If you want picnic shelters and campgrounds, go someplace else. There's no room for civilization at Pandapas. JONATHON R. GIBBS BLACKSBURG
