BUBKA SOARS RECORD 20 FEET, 1 INCH IN POLE VAULT

Sergei Bubka of the Soviet Union broke his world record for the pole vault, clearing 20 feet, 1 inch at Grenoble, France.

Bubka bettered the record of 20-0 1/2 he set last Tuesday in his home town of Donetsk. It was the third time he broke the record in the past two weeks and the 24th time overall, indoors or outdoors.
