CHILHOWIE STUDENT DIES FROM INJURIES

A second student at Chilhowie High School has died from injuries received in an auto accident on Iron Mountain Tuesday.

The Virginia State Police reported that Christina Marie Stuart, 14, died at 4:20 p.m. Saturday at Bristol Regional Medical Center.

Stuart, a passenger in the car, had been in critical condition since the accident.

The driver, Nancy Jane Pennington, 17, died at the scene on Virginia 600 in Smyth County. Four other students received lesser injuries.

The six students had left the school without permission to go riding.
