Dorothy Eileen Patricia Martin and Billy Edmon Charles were married March 23, 1991 in Christiansburg Presbyterian Church by Rev. Vernon D. Miller. The reception was held at the Church Fellowship Hall. The maid of honor was Lorri Newman, bridesmaids were Brenda Christensen, Helen Bishop, Kaylyn Charles, Melinda Boothe, and Christine Martin. The flowergirl was Austin Brooks. The best man was Dickey Charles, father of the groom. Ushers were Edwin Wimmer, Robert Jones, Jr., Robert Cantrell, Billy Christensen, and Michael Charles. The bride wore a cathedral length Ilissa wedding gown made of taffeta with a paplon overlay, heavily beaded with pearls, crystal and sequins. She carried a bouquet of white roses, gardenias and orchid with stephanotis and ivy as accents. The bride is a daughter of Jacquline J. Marrs and Donald R. Martin of Christiansburg. She is a graduate of Va. Tech and is employed by Texas Instruments in Louisville, Tx. as an Industrial Engineer. The bridegroom, son of Frances and Dickey Charles of Denton, Tx., is a graduate of Denton High School and is employed by Bae Automated Systems. The couple will make their home in Lewisville, Texas after the wedding trip to Virginia Beach.
