Beth M. Reed and John H. Whitten were married on March 23, 1991, in Moneta,
Va. The Rev. Harvey Penn of Martinsville officiated. The bride was given in
marriage by her stepfather, Charles Morrison, Sr., of Goodview. The maid of
honor was Vivian Witcher, sister of the groom, of Roanoke. The best man was
Danny Whitten, Jr., brother of the groom, of Roanoke. The bride is the
daughter of Susie Morrison of Goodview and Leonard E. Reed, Jr., of
Mitchellville, Md. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Sumner of Roanoke.
She graduated from Staunton River High School and is employed by the U. S.
Postal Service. The groom is the son of Clara Whitten of Roanoke and the late
Claude Whitten, Sr. His grandparents are Lucille Whitten of Moneta and the
late Alan Whitten. He is employed by Precision Fabrics Group. The newlyweds
will make their home in Bedford.
