A FOURTH RELIGION SPRANG FROM MIDEAST

I READ with interest Price M. Collins' comments (letter, March 11) about the Gulf War's highlighting the area where Abraham was born. He commented that the seeds of Abraham spawned three great religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

Most Christian scholars overlook the fact that Abraham took a third wife, Keturah. As a result of this union, Abraham fathered a fourth religion. The founder of the Baha'i faith, Baha'u'llah of Persia, traced his ancestry to Abraham's marriage to Keturah. The beautiful Baha'i faith spread around the world in less than 100 years. It recently established a National Spiritual Assembly in Russia. FRED LANDIS ROANOKE
