WHOLE WORLD TRIED REASON WITH SADDAM

HOW DOES Eva Loewy (letter, March 2) expect anything to change as long as we still have Adolf Hitlers roaming this Earth? Just what options were left to us? The whole world tried to reason with Saddam, but to no avail.

And who caused all those Iraqi deaths? We may have pulled the trigger, but Saddam loaded the gun.

I feel that because this great country has never been invaded, she does not know what it is like to have her homeland taken over by some dictator. No one thinks war is a great problem-solver, but in this case it gave a nation of human beings the country that was, and should remain always, theirs. KEITH DALTON SALEM
