Walter E. Ferris, age 82, of Route 1, Goodview, died Friday in Asheville, N.C. He was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Murrell Kesler Ferris; sister, Mary Lou Oyler, Roanoke; aunt, Huldah Armentrout, Chamblissburg; niece, Rosa Longbrake, Vinton; nephews, Raymond Ferris, Texas; Archie Ferris, Vermont. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Roger D. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
