BASTIAN - Mr. Charles Clyde Collier, age 81, of Route 1, Bastian, Va., died Friday night at Tazewell Community Hospital following a lingering illness. He was born in Carroll County, Va., and was a son of the late Oscar Cleve and Mattie Jane Webb Collier. He was a salesman and office manager for a construction company. He had made his home in Bastian, Va. for the past 37 years and was of the Methodist faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Piccirillo, and one son, Charles Clyde Collier Jr. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Naomi McClary Collier; one son, Mr. John Collier of Charlottesville, Va.; one daughter, Mrs. Brenda Stowers of Route 1, Bastian, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Lila Edman and Mrs. Laura Michaels, both of Morgantown, W.Va.; three brothers, Mr. Marvin Collier of Tazewell, Va.; Mr. Elmer Collier of Narrows, Va.; Mr. Avis Collier of Dugspur, Va.; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Tazewell, Va., with the Rev. Larry Ramey officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Cox Cemetery in Dugspur, near Hillsville, Va. Pallbearers will be Mr. Kelly Kidd, Mr. Herbert Leffel, Mr. Bill Neel, Mr. Robert Hayes, Mr. Randall Neel and Mr. Eddie Neel. Funeral arrangements are by Hurst-Scott Funeral Home of Tazewell, Va.
