STEFANIK, SETZER SCORE AT RICHMOND

Mike Stefanik held off Doug Heveron and George Kent for a 10-foot victory in the 200-lap Modified portion of Sunday's Winston Twin 200 NASCAR doubleheader at Richmond International Raceway.

In the 200-lap Sportsman event, Dennis Setzer took the lead on the first lap and kept his Ford up front the rest of the way for his second consecutive victory at Richmond.

Stefanik, who started second and led five times for 169 laps, took the lead to stay on lap 167 on the .75-mile, D-shaped layout. Stefanik averaged 104.247 mph in a Pontiac and won $18,825.

Satch Worley, of Rocky Mount, fell out early because of mechanical failure and finished 29th in the 31-car field.

Setzer's strongest challenge came from Charlie Ford, who spun out with three laps remaining and finished 13th. The North Carolina native averaged 75.821 mph and won $4,000. - Wire report
