BRUNSWICK STRIKER CLAIMS INTENTIONAL INJURY FROM DRIVER

A striking union member at Brunswick Corp. claims that he was intentionally hit by a 2 1/2-ton truck driven by a Brunswick employee last week.

The driver, Edward C. Medley of Sugar Grove, has been charged with felonious vehicular assault. He has told Marion police he did not realize he hit anybody.

Kenneth Moxley, a member of Local 1764 of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, was clipped by the vehicle when the truck was leaving Brunswick's No. 2 plant. He was treated at Smyth County Community Hospital and released.

The incident occurred Wednesday. The union has been on strike against Brunswick since March 2. - Southwest bureau
