GREENVILLE, S.C. - Mrs. Mary "Betty" Elizabeth Fralin Powell, age 58, of 101 Sweetwater Road, Greer, S.C., wife of James "Jim" I. Powell, died Sunday, March 24, 1991 at the residence, after a period of declining health. A native of Roanoke, Virginia, she was born October 23, 1932 and was a daughter of Mrs. Ethel Settle Fralin, Roanoke, Va. and the late Ralph Vernon Fralin. Mrs. Powell was a graduate of The College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia. She was formerly associated with the Greenville Mall Retail Merchants Association. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and the Questers Sunday School class. Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are two sons, Timothy J. Powell of Anderson and Daniel F. Powell of the home. A daughter, Amy R. Powell, predeceased her in 1986. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family is at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 7 Shannon Dr., Greenville, S.C. 29615.
