911 CONTEST AIMS TO HELP KIDS COPE WITH EMERGENCIES

Children in Montgomery County know where to turn for help in an emergency. They dial 911.

C&P Telephone Company recently sponsored a poster contest for pupils in Montgomery County elementary schools to encourage the children to depict situations requiring emergency assistance. The purpose of the project was to emphasize the 911 number so that children will know what to do in the event of a real emergency.

Winners in the contest were awarded prizes for their posters in ceremonies at Montgomery County Courthouse Wednesday evening. Pupils from six county schools were recognized:

\ Belview Elementary: Roy Daniel Lilly and Sherri Ann Shumate

\ Elliston-Lafayette: Nicholas Wells and Dreama Schooler
