The team was selected by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.
Jenkins, who attended William Byrd High, led Roanoke in scoring with 13.2 points per game and rebounding with 6.6. The 6-foot senior team captain anchored the Lady Maroons in a 28-2 season that ended a victory short of the Division III Final Four.
"I don't think it's quite hit me yet," said Jenkins, who has 1,235 points, 724 rebounds and 102 blocked shots in her career. "It's pretty unbelievable. I owe it all to the success of the team this year. After losing [to Washington (Mo.) College] in the South Region title game, it took me a while to get over that. This kind of eases it a bit."
Jenkins is Roanoke's first All-America selection since Reggie Thomas was selected for the Kodak men's team in 1985.
In her career, Roanoke was 93-20, the best four-year mark in school history. She was also the Old Dominion Athletic Conference player of the year.
"She doesn't have flashy statistics, but people don't see the things behind the scenes," said Roanoke coach Susan Dunagan. "She only averaged 25 minutes a game. If she had played more she would have averaged more. She's been overshadowed and finally she's getting her just rewards."
