HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - Nell W. Jerome, age 76, of 300 Woodhaven Drive, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, died Thursday, March 21, 1991, at the Nursing Wing of The Seabrook of Hilton Head Island, S.C. She was a native of Boones Mill, Virginia, and a daughter of the late Robert and Cora Coleman Williams. She moved to Hilton Head Island in 1984 from Arlington, Virginia. She and her late husband, W. Gray Jerome Sr. resided in the Greensboro, North Carolina area for many years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Hilton Head Island. Mrs. Jerome is survived by two sons, Robert Jerome of Old Saybrook, Connecticut and W. Gray Jerome, Ph.D., of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; a brother, Frank Williams of Roanoke, Virginia; a sister, Julia Hurd of Arlington, Virginia; and three grandchildren. A memorial service was held Monday, March 25, 1991, at the First Presbyterian Church, Hilton Head Island, S.C., with the Rev. John Miller officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 540 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head Island, S.C., 29928, or the American Heart Association. The Island Funeral Home of Hilton Head Island, S.C. was in charge of arrangements.
