REDISTRICTING PLAN OPPOSED IN GILES

Representatives from the county supervisors, the School Board and each of Giles County's five town councils unanimously agreed Monday night to support Del. Barbara Stafford's opposition to a Democratic plan in the House of Dele- gates for redistricting the county.

The vote came during an intergovernmental meeting at the Pearisburg Town Hall, which was held for the purpose of bringing the elected officials throughout the county together to discuss county matters.

In her comments before the group, Stafford, R-Pearisburg, urged the county officials to express their discontent at a public hearing to be held in Wytheville today.
