WRIGHT, THELMA N.

Thelma Nichols Wright, 87, of 1608 Oakwood Street, died Tuesday, March 26, 1991, in Bedford County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Richmond, February 19, 1904, a daughter of the late Omar Alvin Nichols and Pearl Johnson Nichols. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Wright and two sisters, Doris W. Logwood and Virginia N. Watson. She was a retired employee of Dominion Bank. She was a member of Bedford Baptist Church, the Peaks of Otter Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution and the Order of the Eastern Star, Liberty Chapter #109. She is survived by two nieces, Donna W. Baker, Harrisonburg; Jenny Seay Ballard, Richmond; a great-niece, Catherine B. Thompson, Harrisonburg; a brother-in-law, Lloyd M. Watson, Staunton; a sister-in-law, Mabel W. Ballard, Bedford. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Oakwood Cemetery with Dr. Ron R. Blankenship officiating. The family suggests those wishing to make memorials consider the Bedford Life Saving Crew. The family will receive friends at the residence. Arrangements are being handled by Carder-Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.
