VMI'S MCMINN WINS FERRUM INVITATIONAL

Rich McMinn of VMI had a 2-over-par 74 and finished with a two-round score of 149 to win the Ferrum Invitational golf tournament at Water's Edge on Tuesday.

Will Coble of Davidson fired a 72 to finish with 150 as he led Davidson to the team title. The Wildcats were tied at 621 after 18 holes with North Carolina-Greensboro then won in a one-hole playoff.

Trey Petty of VMI shot 77-74 to finish third.

The tournament was played over two days. The first day was contested at Waterfront.
