MOUNTAINEERS DROP HOKIES IN BASEBALL

Appalachian State used seven errors by Virginia Tech to pick up a 10-7 baseball victory Wednesday.

Both teams rapped out 13 hits, with Clint Creed going 4-for-5 for Tech (12-9). Josh Haggas and Steve Render added two hits each.

The Mountaineers (16-10) used two hits, three bases on balls and a pair of Tech errors to score four times in the sixth inning for a 7-2 lead. The Hokies scored five runs in the last two innings but couldn't pull even.
