LEMOYNE'S REED SHUTS OUT RADFORD

Jim Reed pitched a four-hitter and Keith Jackues slugged a two-run home run as LeMoyne College blanked Radford University 5-0 in college baseball Wednesday.

Reed (1-0) walked two and struck out four as the Syracuse, N.Y., school improved its record to 3-2.

Jackues' fourth-inning homer gave LeMoyne a 2-0 lead against Radford starter Ray Malvasio, who was a hard-luck loser. Malvasio pitched 8 innings, allowing six hits, no walks and one earned run. He was victimized by six errors by the Highlanders (9-12-4).
