HONAKER TO CELEBRATE 10TH REDBUD FESTIVAL

The Honaker Redbud Festival will be celebrating its 10th year when it gets under way Saturday with the Miss Redbud, Junior Miss Redbud, Little Prince and Princess pageants.

Another pageant, the Ms. Redbud Festival for married women over age 21, is set for April 13 along with a Men's Hairy Leg Contest. Also on April 13 will be the 10th running of the festival's canoe race on the Clinch River.

The McGlothlins, a gospel group, will sing April 13 along with the Stevens Family and Spencer Trio.

The biggest festival day will be April 27 with a car show, arts and crafts show and the festival parade. A homecoming dinner will end the festival April 28.
