`EASTER FIESTA', RADIOTHON GO ON THROUGH WEEKEND

LIVE: WPUV's "Easter Fiesta" continues all weekend on the station grounds off Dora Highway today at noon and 7 p.m. and Sunday beginning at 7 a.m. with a sunrise service. The public is invited and the event is free.

WUVT continues "Radiothon" through Sunday. Listen for details on calling in a donation to keep the station operating. Other fund-raisers this week include WUVT's Throb series. Easter Sunday, the station holds its "Metal Throb" at South Main Cafe in Blacksburg and Thursday's Throb includes such groups as Joe the Fireman, Baby Igor and The Slugs at Buddy's.

Today, WBLB will be at Central Lumber on First Street in Pulaski for a "Spring Spectacular." The singing group The Nippers will perform, and there will be 20 cars - dragsters and antiques - on display. Refreshments will also be available.

Also today, WFNR will be at the Texaco Food Mart in Christiansburg, 1-3:30 p.m., to broadcast "Old Time Pickin'," which includes a flat footin' contest and mountain music from North Carolinians Larry Sigmon and Barbara Coole. WFNR will also have a live remote from the Pine Factory in the New River Valley Mall with a bluegrass band, 4-6 p.m.

WRAD and WRIQ will be live at Wade's in Dublin today for a kitchen giveaway. Listen for details.

Ronnie Henson will be "Live on Stage" over WPUV today, 9-10 a.m.

Tuesday, WPSK will help with the grand opening of the new Wal-Mart in Pulaski beginning at 8:30 a.m.

\ CHRISTIAN ROCK: "Street Light Cafe" airs Sunday, 7:30-9 a.m. on WVVV-Rock 105, with host Don Webber.

\ COMEDY: WVRU simulcasts "What Ever Happened To . . .," Sunday, 5:30 p.m., which features TV, music and film stars as they look back on their lives. This week's guest is Dwayne Hickman of "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis."

And catch WVRU's "Hub City Spoke Repair," Wednesday, 9:30 p.m., which takes a satirical look at current affairs.

\ ROCK: WVRU's "Long Live Rock," Monday, 9 p.m., includes Bad Company, Elton John and the Ozark Mountain Daredevils.

On WVVV this week: "Album Feature" airs Sunday, 11 p.m. "Rock Line" airs Monday, 11:30 p.m., and "Five At Five" is broadcast on Friday.

WVRU's "Guide Wire Radio," Monday, 8 p.m., features independently produced acts from throughout the world and music from various unsigned bands.

\ DANCE: WUVT's "House Party" airs 9 till midnight Saturday.

WPSK hosts the "Country Dance Party" at the Blacksburg Marriott each Sunday. Dance lessons begin at 7 p.m., and the party starts at 9.

\ INTERNATIONAL: Saturday, WUVT's lineup is classical music, 6-9 a.m.; Greek broadcasting, 9-11 a.m.; "The Persian Show," 11 a.m.; "The International Show" at 1 p.m.; Reggae, 3-6 p.m.; and "Urban Blight," an eclectic mix of thrash, rap and reggae, plays 6-9. And Sunday, it's reggae, 3-6 p.m.

\ RACING: WRAD and WRIQ start Pulaski County Speedway coverage on April 7 for the first race.

WJJJ and WNRV carry the Hickory Motor Speedway Mountain Dew 500 NASCAR race Sunday, 1:45 p.m.

\ COUNTRY: WPSK's "Star Trax" airs Sunday, 10 p.m., with special guest Randy Travis. "CD Feature of the Week" airs Sunday, 11 p.m. Today, 8 a.m.-noon, "Bob Kingsley's American Country Countdown" lists the top 40. Also airs Sunday, 4-8 p.m. "Stories Behind the Songs" airs Sunday, 10 p.m.

WKEX has a live country music show today, 1-2 p.m., featuring Southbound live.

\ NEWS: WKEX's "Focus on the Family" airs twice weekdays with "Seasons of a Marriage," Monday; "A Personal Visit," Tuesday; "U.N. Conference on the Rights of Children," Wednesday; and "My Adoptive Son: A Single Woman's Story," Thursday and Friday.

WVRU's "Talk of the Town," Wednesday, 8 p.m. and Friday, 1:30 p.m., broadcasts highlights of the upcoming health fair sponsored by Radford University and Radford Community Hospital.

\ CHILDREN: On WUVT Sunday: "Hickory Dickory Dock" airs kid stuff and call-ins 9-11 a.m. and "Mash Potatoe Radio" has stories, readings and music at 11 a.m.

\ GOSPEL: WFNR's "The Gospel Night Train" airs Sunday, 6-10 p.m., and features a choral presentation of Brahms' requiem in observance of Easter.

WRAD's "Morning Worship" from the First Baptist Church airs 11 a.m. Sunday and "In Touch" airs at 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
