Mr. John Montaque Vass, age 57, of 7 Mile Ford, passed away March 28 at Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion. He was born May 3, 1933 in Carroll County to Mr. Millard Montaque Vass, of Dublin and the late Artie Jane Jenkins Vass. Her s survived by one son, Mr. Robert Louif Vass, Snowsville; five sisters, Mrs. Winfred (Opal) Bruner, Mebane, N.C.; Mrs. James (Carolyn) Walker, Winston-Salem, N.C.; Mrs. J.B. (Mary Alice) Marshall, Pulaski; Mrs. Dearl (Wynona) Hill, Germanton, N.C.; Mrs. Curtis (Patsy) Coulson, Pearisburg. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 30 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hillsville Christian Church, conducted by the Rev. Charles Mackey. Burial to follow in the Monta Vista Memory Gardens. Military rites at the graveside by Hillsville VFW Post 1115. Arrangements by Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Funeral Home, Hillsville.
