NO YARD WASTE IN RADFORD GARBAGE

The Radford Public Works Department is reminding residents that yard waste must be separated from household garbage. The following regulations must be followed:

Yard waste, brush, construction debris, household goods such as appliances, furniture, etc., cannot be put out for collection with weekly collected garbage.

Yard waste consisting of leaves, grass and small twigs and limbs under 6 inches in diameter will be collected at no charge if an order is placed by calling the Billing Office at 731-3602.

Yard waste, brush, construction debris, car parts, large bulky items, dead animals or other unusual waste will not be collected if placed in bulk containers or garbage cans.

All garbage must be placed in dumpsters or garbage cans for collection.

The cans used for garbage disposal must not be over 32 gallons in capacity, must not weigh in excess of 74 pounds and must have lids.

All trash must be placed at the edge of the road or alley by 7:30 a.m. on the day of pickup.
