ROWE CUTS 45, CITES ECONOMY

Rowe Furniture Corp. said Friday it has laid off 45 employees because of economic conditions. Ted Spradling, personnel manager of the Salem company, said the production and support workers affected represent slightly more than 10 percent of the factory's work force of 425. Spradling said the company hopes to rehire the employees soon.
