Securities and commodities exchanges in the United States were closed Friday in observance of the Good Friday holiday. The Roanoke Times & World-News today is publishing its regular weekly summaries of the financial markets based on trading through Thursday.

Campbell Taggart Inc., the Dallas-based parent of Rainbo Bread Co. of Roanoke, said it has begun marketing IronKids bread, a new brand that has the fiber and nutrition of wheat bread but the taste and look of white bread. The new bread is being baked by the Rainbo and Colonial baking companies. Campbell Taggart is a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch Cos.

Anchor Truck Accessories, a Salem dealer of caps and other accessories for pickup trucks, has been appointed a dealer and distributor of Leer truck caps.

C.E. Thurston & Sons. Inc., a Norfolk-based industrial and commercial insulation contractor with operations in Roanoke, has acquired Mechanical Insulations Services Inc. of Florence, S.C., and will merge operations of the two companies effective Monday. Martin Buchanan, president of Mechanical Insulation Services, will head Thurston's MIS division, with offices in the Carolinas, Georgia and Florida.

Lechters Inc., a Harrison, N.J. housewares retailer operating a store in Roanoke, reported net income for its fiscal year, ended Jan. 26, was $10.1 million or $1.40 a share, up 12 percent over $9 million, or $1.35 a share, a year earlier. Sales for the year totaled $187.6 million, up 19.5 percent over $156.8 million a year earlier. Comparable store sales, however, declined 0.2 percent in the year, the company said.
