WEIGHT LIMIT IS LOWERED ON U.S. 21

Maximum weight limits of 22 tons for dual-axle vehicles and 33 tons for tractor-trailers have been posted for vehicles crossing the U.S. 21 bridge over Reed Creek at the southern town limits of Wytheville.

Heavier vehicles should detour by using Interstate 77.

The Virginia Department of Transportation will start repairs on the bridge in early April and should be finished in three months.
